Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das on Friday urged everyone to promote digital ways in transactions. His remarks are significant in terms of the measures being taken to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

At present, the entire world is struggling with the corona virus crisis. The worldwide death toll has crossed 24,000. Not only this, the number of people who died of Corona virus in the country has increased to 17 while the number of infected people has crossed the figure of 700.

During the announcement of several measures including repo, CRR cut to maintain cash in the system by the Reserve Bank, Das said, ‘Corona virus crisis is before us, but it will also pass. The Reserve Bank has reduced the repo rate by 0.75 percent to 4.4 percent. At the same time, the cash reserve ratio (CRR) of banks has been cut by one percent. This will provide additional cash of Rs 3.74 lakh crore for lending to banks.
