A senior official said, “It is a sensitive time and we are not thinking of earning revenue at the moment. The main emphasis is on passenger safety and not the spread of the (corona virus) epidemic. When the government gives the green signal, then trains will run when the time comes. However, we have not taken any decision yet. Officers in various zones of the railway are marking trains and routes that can be restored with the approval of the board. Officials said that the main focus is on whether the routes leading to migrant workers and those who are not traveling and staying in places with high infection of Kovid-19 can be restored initially. is.
He said that the railways also have to keep in mind how the lockdown is going to open. If this happens selectively, then the trains will operate only in those areas where the lockdown (at that time) would have been removed. The Railway is also not expected to hastily cancel the March 19 order stating that other passengers, excluding patients, students and persons with disabilities in the period after lockdown to discourage unnecessary travel. The concession in rent is being postponed. Officials said that after the resumption of train services, the railway is also discussing the protocol required for the safety of passengers. They are also considering thermal screening of passengers boarding trains and screening by other means.
DRDO gets green signal for railway personal protective equipment
Two samples of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) made in the workshop of Northern Railway have been approved by Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). This has paved the way for their production in railway units. These devices have proven effective in blocking blood or body fluids.

13 lakh railway personnel asked to download the Arogya Setu App
Indian Railways has asked its 13 lakh employees and their families to download the Health Ministry App Arogya Setu. The app was launched by the Union Health Ministry on April 2. This mobile app helps people to find out if they are at risk of infection with corona virus.
The National Informatics Center, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has developed. Railways said that this app can prove to be very important in dealing with the corona virus crisis in India. More than 50 lakh people have downloaded the Arogya Setu app from the Google Play store in just three days after launch. This app is available in 11 languages.
